The Palliative Care Policy GPS is a regularly updated and publicly accessible database tracking legislation on palliative care and improvements in the care of people with serious illness across the 50 states, the U.S. territories, the Indian Health Service (IHS), and the Veterans Administration (VA).
The GPS aims to assist policymakers, clinicians, researchers, and others in better understanding how states, territories, and tribal governments are adopting palliative care policies over time; identifying opportunities and barriers to policy adoption; and developing strategies to improve quality and access to palliative care.
Please see the About page to learn more about palliative care, the background of the GPS and to view a list of key terms and definitions; and the Contact Us for page for more details about how you can submit information or ask questions.
The GPS is subject to revision as we receive new information and refine our platform. We welcome feedback, which can be submitted through the Contact Us page.
